GAMMA Fishing Line 
While at the 2006 BASS CLASSIC in Orlando I had the privilege to stop by almost every booth that was exhibiting in the Outdoor Expo. Believe me when I tell you, there were many, many new products for a fisherman to feast their wanting eyes on.
Of what seemed to be hundreds of new products, I was able to conduct a stretch-to-break test with the newest and now I believe it to be the most powerful and flexible, co-polymer fishing line in the industry - Gamma fishing line. The booth attendant walked me through 2 stretch-to-break tests.
The first test was with a very well known and popular fishing line, which I will not mention. For the test I was allowed to choose any line from what was displayed on the tabletop. And there weren’t just a select few to choose from – all manufacturers were represented!
After I made my selection he tied a simple overhand knot in the middle of the line and looped the open ends around a dowel about the size of a pencil. I grabbed one dowel and he grabbed the other. I was instructed to pull the line tight between his dowel and mine (about 3 feet between him and I now). Then he said, “pull.” I did. And with very little effort the competitor’s line I choose went “tink.” and broke.
Then we took the equivalent pound test of Gamma Co-Polymer fishing line and proceed to do the same test. This time when he said “pull” I did just as I had done a minute before however the line only stretched. He said, “Ya gotta pull.” So, I took a half step back and pulled harder on the Gamma line. Finally, it snapped. It snapped so hard that the tag end I was holding whipped back and cut my middle finger just below the knuckle. I didn’t need first aid, but it did cut me.
